News Release - Candidate Filing for Mayor and City Council
Candidate Filing Information:
First day for filing application for a place on the City of Longview City Council Districts 1, 2 and Mayor General Election will be February 6, 2012 ending March 5, 2012. The last day for a regular write-in candidate to declare candidacy for the General Election is March 5, 2012.
The City Secretary's office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Located at 300 W. Cotton Street, Longview TX.
Voter Registration:
The last day for a person who is not registered to vote to register and be eligible to vote in this election is April 12, 2012.
Early voting hours for May 12 General Election:
Monday, April 30 - Friday, May 4 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 5 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Monday, May 7 - Tuesday, May 8 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
All early voting is conducted in the lobby of City Hall located at 300 W. Cotton Street.
May 12 General Election Voting:
Election Day voting will take place from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012.
District 1: Pine Tree Community Center, 1701 Pine Tree Rd.
District 2: Stamper Park Resource Center, 502 S. Center St.
District 3: Broughton Recreation Center, 801 S. M.L. King Blvd.
District 4: Forest Park Magnet School Library, 1644 N. Eastman Rd.
District 5: Spring Hill School - L. L. Williamson Auditorium Lobby, 3101 Spring Hill Rd.
District 6: City Hall - Lobby, 300 W. Cotton St.
